Beaver Fever

eskerlab

After many, many attempts I was finally able to capture some video of a beaver on Sycamore Creek. Over the past three years there has been ample evidence of beavers living on the creek including cut trees. But these nocturnal rodents remained elusive.

Two years ago I briefly spotted a large beaver swimming upstream after first mistaking it for a dog. But until today I had no photographs or videos. The trail camera video below begins by showing the much more common muskrat with its thin tail. The video ends with a short clip of the beaver with its broad, flat tail. The next challenge is to find the beaver den.
